1982 :: Mims Hotel Saved: It was in 1982 that the old Mims Hotel was relocated by ACHA to Prattvillage, thus saving it from being razed.
1982 :: Buena Vista Acquired. An agreement was made with Union Camp Corporation whereby ACHA would maintain and manage the stately old mansion, thus saving it from being removed from Autauga County. This accomplishment occurred in 1982. Buena Vista is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
1984 :: Daniel Pratt Historic District Established: From its earliest inception the primary goal of the Heritage Association was to establish National Register status for downtown Prattville. In 1984 the Daniel Pratt Historic District was finally certified.
1990 :: Genealogical Society. After several failed attempts, in 1990 the Association's goal of organizing a genealogical group was realized. Appropriating funds to acquire a computer to facilitateelectronic research of historical and genealogical documents, ACHA fully supported the formation of Autauga Genealogical Society.
1992 :: Pratt Cemetery Saved. In 1992 a move began to relocate Pratt Cemetery to Oak Hill Cemetery. ACHA opposed the move, and one of its members became Chairman of Historic Prattville Redevelopment Authority. HPRA took on the task of saving and restoring the cemetery in its original location. ACHA shared the cost of erecting a historic marker at the cemetery, and after HPRA completed the restoration, ACHA assumed responsibility for maintaining it.
1994 :: McMillian Files. In 1994 the Association transcribed and published six volumes of the files of deceased Auburn University professor, Malcolm McMillan. These files represented years of accumulation and contributed significantly to Autauga County's historical records.
1995 :: History Coloring Book & Historic Plaque Programs. The mid-1990s saw the publishing of an ACHA coloring book that is given to each school child touring the museum. We also began our Historic Plaque program for either historic property or historic district property.
1995-1996 :: Heritage Center Established. The Heritage Center was first established at Scott House, 143 S. Chestnut Street. This was in 1995 and was made possible by cooperation between the City of Prattville and ACHA. The Center housed a museum, an archives, and a visitors information service. In 1996, through a gracious donation by ACHA members, the McWilliams-Smith-Rice home was acquired. The City renovated it and it became the new Heritage Center. This important facility gave a new dimension to historic preservation in Autauga County.
1999 :: Pratt Bicentenniel Celebration. The last two years of the twentieth century saw a plethora of ACHA activity centered around arranging for the two hundredth anniversary of the birth of Daniel Pratt (1999). This massive celebration was a year-long succession of events, not the least of which was the Pratt Symposium. This gathering attracted the services of a number of Pratt scholars who delivered papers on important facets of the Pratt persona. The many other important events associated with the celebration can not be listed due to lack of space.
2000 - 2001 :: Slaton House Move & Restoration. As the new millennium began the Association took on yet another major undertaking, that of relocating the old 1835 Slaton house from its original rural station in the county and restoring it at Prattvillage in Prattville. This project is still on-going and will require many hours of volunteer work and many Heritage dollars.
